Lane Kiffin is going back to Oxford this week.
You already know this isn’t going to feel like a normal football game.
Kiffin will lead LSU against Ole Miss, returning to the place where he spent years building the Rebels into a national contender before leaving for Baton Rouge.
But Kiffin is already trying to take himself out of the storyline.
When asked about facing Ole Miss and Pete Golding, Kiffin had a pretty simple response:
“Pete’s not gonna tackle anybody, I’m not gonna throw any touchdowns.”
And technically, he’s right.
But good luck convincing anyone in Oxford that this game isn’t personal.
The boos will be loud, the emotions will be high, and every decision Kiffin makes will be dissected.
He can downplay it all he wants.
Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford is going to be must-watch television.
