The Milwaukee Brewers had plenty of reasons to celebrate after capturing their first World Series championship, but nobody expected hitting coach Daniel Vogelbach to become one of the biggest stars of the parade.
And then he grabbed a microphone.
After a full day of partying with players and thousands of Brewers fans, Vogelbach stepped up to the stage with a Miller Lite in hand and delivered a karaoke performance that Milwaukee won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
The song? “Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne.
Vogelbach immediately became the entertainment everyone needed, singing his way through the 2003 hit while his teammates cheered him on. His voice was far from perfect, but that only made the moment even better.
At one point, pitcher Aaron Ashby joined in to encourage the Brewers hitting coach as the crowd watched the hilarious performance unfold.
And apparently, this wasn’t even an entirely spontaneous decision. According to reports, Vogelbach had promised he would sing the song during the team’s championship celebration after they clinched the World Series.
He delivered on that promise.
Vogelbach may not have been the one hitting home runs or throwing pitches during Milwaukee’s championship run, but he certainly found a way to become one of the most memorable faces of the celebration.
After waiting 44 years to celebrate another trip to the World Series and finally bringing home the championship, Milwaukee was ready to party. Vogelbach made sure the celebration had a soundtrack.
