The Indianapolis Colts finally got back into the win column Sunday, defeating the Houston Texans 19-17 in a thrilling AFC South battle at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The victory snapped Indianapolis’ nine-game losing streak and gave the Colts their first win of the 2026 season.
Shrader Comes Through
The Colts leaned heavily on kicker Spencer Shrader throughout the afternoon.
Shrader battled through a groin injury but still connected on four field goals. His biggest kick came with just 16 seconds remaining, when he drilled a 43-yarder to give Indianapolis a 19-17 lead.
That kick ultimately proved to be the difference.
Jones Leads the Offense
Daniel Jones helped keep the Colts in the game, completing 24 of 36 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown.
Jones also connected with Keenan Allen for his first touchdown as a Colt. Josh Downs added five catches for 77 yards, while Allen finished with six receptions for 63 yards.
Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 23 times for 68 yards as Indianapolis tried to control the clock and keep the Texans’ offense off the field.
Texans Nearly Steal It
Houston appeared to have a chance to take control late in the game.
Jones fumbled three times, losing two of them, and his second lost fumble helped set up a late Houston touchdown that gave the Texans a 17-16 lead.
But Indianapolis responded with one final drive.
The Colts moved into field-goal range, setting up Shrader for the game-winning 43-yard kick with only 16 seconds remaining.
Colts Defense Holds On
Houston still had one final opportunity, but the Indianapolis defense held firm.
The Texans could not get into position for a game-winning field goal, allowing the Colts to close out the 19-17 victory.
The win moves Indianapolis to 1-2 on the season, while Houston falls to 0-3.
After a nine game losing streak, the Colts finally have a victory to build on.
