College football’s best-kept secret might be playing quarterback at Mississippi State.
His name is Kamario Taylor, and this dude is electric.
Taylor gave us a glimpse last season, but through two games in 2026, he’s starting to look like one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the country.
In Week 1, Taylor threw for 354 yards and four touchdowns while adding another 59 yards and a score on the ground.
Then came his first real test.
On the road against Minnesota, Taylor completed 16 of 22 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another 86 yards in a dominant 38-13 victory.
And the numbers don’t even completely explain it.
Taylor is 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, has a cannon for an arm and can completely change a play with his legs. Against ULM, he went viral after effortlessly launching a pass roughly 55 yards through the air for a 70-yard touchdown.
The hype inside college football circles was already building before the season.
Archie Manning called him a “stud,” while Nick Saban said Taylor “could be the truth and the light.”
Now we’re starting to understand why.
Mississippi State isn’t one of the programs that automatically dominates national headlines, so Taylor might still be unknown to casual fans.
That probably won’t last much longer.
He’s explosive. He’s huge. He can make ridiculous throws. He can beat defenses with his legs.
And most importantly, Mississippi State is 2-0.
Remember the name.
Kamario Taylor might be college football’s next superstar quarterback.
