The Milwaukee Brewers are one victory away from capturing the first World Series championship in franchise history as they prepare to face the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 4 on Tuesday night. Milwaukee enters the matchup with a commanding 3-0 series lead after dominating Monday’s contest, putting the Brewers in position to complete a sweep and make franchise history.

The Rays, meanwhile, face elimination at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay must find a way to slow Milwaukee’s offense and extend the series, or its championship hopes will end in front of its home crowd.

First pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, with coverage on FOX.

Brewers One Win Away From History

Milwaukee has controlled the series through its first three games, finding different ways to win while receiving contributions from its pitching staff and lineup.

The Brewers opened the World Series with a narrow 3-2 victory before rallying for a 5-4 win in Game 2. They followed those performances with a 10-1 blowout in Game 3, moving within one victory of their first championship.

Monday’s win was especially impressive because Milwaukee broke the game open with an eight-run fifth inning. Jackson Chourio collected four hits, while Brice Turang and William Contreras helped lead an offense that recorded 16 hits.

The Brewers have won eight consecutive postseason games and enter Game 4 with tremendous momentum. Their combination of timely hitting, aggressive baserunning and effective pitching has made them difficult to stop throughout October.

Milwaukee now has an opportunity to finish the job without needing to return home for another game.

Rays Fight to Keep Their Season Alive

Tampa Bay faces an enormous challenge after losing three straight games. The Rays showed they could compete with Milwaukee early in the series, but their offense has struggled to produce consistently since Game 2.

Their biggest priority Tuesday will be generating offense early rather than allowing Milwaukee to establish control. Tampa Bay must also avoid the defensive mistakes and extended innings that contributed to Monday’s lopsided defeat.

Right hander Griffin Jax is expected to start for the Rays. He will need to deliver an effective outing and give Tampa Bay’s offense an opportunity to respond.

The Rays also could rely heavily on their bullpen if Jax struggles to work deep into the game. With their season on the line, manager Kevin Cash may have little room for hesitation when making pitching decisions.

Can Milwaukee Finish the Job?

The Brewers enter Game 4 as the team to beat, but they cannot afford to overlook a Tampa Bay squad fighting for survival. The Rays will be desperate to deliver their best performance of the series.

For Milwaukee, another strong offensive showing could put the championship within reach. For Tampa Bay, the challenge is simple: win Tuesday or watch its season come to an end.

With history on the line, Game 4 promises to be one of the biggest nights in Brewers franchise history.
