Drew Lock was supposed to be the backup.
Then Sam Darnold got hurt.
Then Lock walked into a Super Bowl rematch and rescued Seattle.
He completed 16 of 22 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown.
More importantly, he helped engineer a comeback from a 10-0 deficit.
The biggest play came on fourth-and-1.
Lock found Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 45-yard touchdown.
Suddenly, Seattle had life.
Then the defense finished the job.
Now comes the interesting part.
Darnold’s MRI reportedly showed no significant damage, but his return timeline remains uncertain.
That should keep Seahawks fans interested in what Lock can do.
Nobody is suggesting Seattle should bench a healthy Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
But Lock just proved something valuable.
The Seahawks might have a better Plan B than most contenders.
And that could matter enormously over a 17-game season.
