Seattle’s offense looked awful.
And somehow, nobody should be particularly worried.
The Seahawks lost starting quarterback Sam Darnold to a hip injury early. Drew Lock had to take over.
Seattle still won.
The defense completely took over the fourth quarter.
The Seahawks intercepted Drake Maye three times in the final quarter. The final pick came in the end zone with 21 seconds left.
That is not luck.
That is a defense capable of deciding games.
Seattle trailed 10-0 and still found a way to win its Super Bowl rematch.
The offense will need to improve.
The defense already looks terrifying.
And if Darnold’s injury is manageable, the defending champions just showed the NFL something important.
Seattle does not need everything to go right to win.
That might be the most dangerous thing about this team.
