The Atlanta Dream are moving on — and Angel Reese’s first playoff run in Atlanta is already making noise.
The Dream completed a 2-0 first-round sweep of the Washington Mystics, winning Game 2 93-75 to advance to the WNBA semifinals for the first time since 2018.
Reese delivered 15 points in the closeout victory, helping Atlanta control a game it never trailed. Allisha Gray led the Dream with 22 points, while Jordin Canada stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.
And Reese made her presence felt throughout the entire series. In her playoff debut, she posted 13 points and 12 rebounds as Atlanta erased an 11-point deficit to win Game 1, 92-77.
Atlanta had been eliminated in the first round in each of the previous three seasons. Not anymore.
Now Reese and the Dream move on to face the No. 8 New York Liberty, who pulled off their own sweep of No. 1 Minnesota. Atlanta will host Game 1 of the semifinals as it looks to reach its first WNBA Finals since 2013.
Angel Reese already has Defensive Player of the Year. Now she has Atlanta thinking about something even bigger.
