No. 25 Georgia Women’s Basketball Eyes NCAA Momentum

ATHENS, Ga. — No. 25 Georgia women’s basketball enters the 2026 season’s conference slate looking to build on a strong nonconference showing and make a deep NCAA Tournament run.

The Bulldogs are 18–4 overall and 4–4 in SEC play, coming off wins over ranked opponents including No. 18 Kentucky and No. 17 Ole Miss. Georgia opened conference play with a 1–3 stretch but has since rattled off three straight victories, including a 76–66 road win at Arkansas and a 72–67 triumph at No. 11 Kentucky.

Georgia enters Thursday’s home matchup against No. 22 Alabama at Stegeman Coliseum, holding a +17.6 scoring margin in SEC play.

The Bulldogs are led by Dani Carnegie, who is averaging 18.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 46.9% from the field. Trinity Turner also contributes 4.8 assists and 1.8 steals per contest, providing stability in the backcourt.

Depth has been a defining factor this season. Mia Woolfolk and Rylie Theuerkauf have each provided double-digit scoring, and Aicha Ndour anchors the paint with 0.9 blocks per game.

Georgia’s ability to spread scoring across multiple players has given the Bulldogs a competitive edge against the SEC’s top programs.

Team Leader Stats:

  • Dani Carnegie (G) – 18.3 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 3.2 APG, 46.1% FG
  • Mia Woolfolk (F) – 12.1 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 0.8 APG, 58.3% FG

After the Alabama matchup, Georgia will continue its conference schedule with games at Missouri, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, and Florida before concluding the regular season in late March.

The SEC Tournament is scheduled for March 12–16, with the NCAA Tournament tipping off shortly thereafter. With a talented roster and a favorable schedule ahead, Georgia aims to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023 and make a run toward the Sweet 16 and beyond.

Georgia women’s basketball keeps it rolling soon.
