Odell Beckham Jr. is officially back where his NFL career began.
The New York Giants have kept Beckham on their initial 53-man roster, completing one of the most memorable comeback stories of the 2026 offseason. Beckham originally became a superstar with the Giants after being selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Beckham returned to New York this offseason with something to prove. After spending the 2025 season out of the NFL, the veteran wide receiver signed with the Giants and entered training camp without a guaranteed spot on the final roster.
New head coach John Harbaugh made it clear that Beckham would have to earn his place on the team. Beckham responded with a strong summer, consistently showing that he could still create separation and make plays down the field.
His biggest performance came in the Giants’ preseason finale against the New York Jets. Beckham caught three passes for 53 yards, with all three receptions going for first downs. He also showed off his trademark speed, nearly breaking away for a long touchdown.
Overall, Beckham finished the preseason with seven receptions for 76 yards. His performance was enough to convince the Giants that he still has something to offer.
For Beckham, making the roster is about much more than simply continuing his football career. New York is where he became one of the NFL’s biggest stars, earning three consecutive Pro Bowl selections and establishing himself as one of the league’s most exciting receivers.
Now, 12 years after entering the NFL, Beckham gets another opportunity to wear a Giants uniform during the regular season.
The 33-year-old will enter the season hoping to contribute as a veteran receiver while helping a young Giants offense. Whether he can recapture some of the magic from his first stint in New York remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: OBJ is officially back with Big Blue.
