Tiger Woods returning to the Masters would be one of the biggest sports stories of 2027.
And suddenly, that possibility doesn’t sound quite so far-fetched.
Woods has not competed in a professional tournament since the 2024 Open Championship. Injuries, back surgery and a difficult recovery have kept golf’s biggest modern superstar away from competition.
But fresh comments from fellow golfer Kevin Kisner have reignited speculation about a potential comeback.
Kisner believes Woods could be targeting a return to competitive golf, with the Masters in April 2027 emerging as a possible long-term goal.
For golf fans, that is enough to start dreaming.
Tiger Woods Could Have a December Comeback Window
The first major question is whether Woods will compete before the end of 2026.
Two events stand out: the Hero World Challenge, which Woods hosts in the Bahamas from Dec. 3-6, and the PNC Championship, scheduled for Dec. 19-20.
The PNC would offer an especially compelling opportunity because Woods traditionally plays alongside his son, Charlie.
Neither appearance should be treated as confirmed. Woods has not publicly committed to either tournament, and his health remains the deciding factor.
Still, the possibility of seeing him compete again before the year ends has golf fans watching closely.
The Masters Would Be the Ultimate Comeback Stage
If Woods is able to return in December, the next question becomes how far he could go.
The Masters, scheduled for April 8-11, 2027, would provide an iconic setting for another chapter in his career.
Augusta National is where Woods has delivered some of the most memorable moments in golf history. His 2019 victory remains one of the sport’s defining comeback stories.
A return to that stage would generate enormous attention, even if Woods were not considered a championship favorite.
But it is important to separate optimism from certainty. Woods would need to demonstrate that his body can withstand competitive golf, and a successful range session is not the same as completing four rounds at a major.
TGL Could Be the Key Test
Woods has also been announced as part of the Jupiter Links Golf Club roster for the upcoming TGL season.
