Tiger Woods might not be finished competing in 2026 after all.
And the latest development has golf fans dreaming about a reunion that would be almost impossible to resist: Tiger and Charlie Woods back on the course together.
Tournament organizers are reportedly holding a spot for the legendary golfer and his son at the December PNC Championship, according to Golfweek reporting cited by GolfMagic.
There is one enormous catch: Woods has not confirmed that he will play.
But the door is open, and the timing has golf fans paying attention.
Tiger and Charlie Could Be Back Together
The PNC Championship has become one of golf’s most compelling family events.
The tournament’s scramble format allows professional golfers to compete alongside a family member. For Woods, that means another potential opportunity to play alongside Charlie, who has become a familiar face to golf fans in his own right.
The pair have competed together five times since 2020. They finished runner-up twice, including a dramatic playoff loss in 2024.
A return would give them another shot at the title that has eluded them.
And unlike a standard PGA Tour event, the format could offer a less physically demanding route back into competitive golf for a player whose body has endured years of injuries and surgeries.
That does not guarantee Woods is ready. It does, however, make the possibility especially intriguing.
The Latest Tiger Woods Comeback Clues
Woods has not competed in an official professional tournament since the 2024 Open Championship.
His road back has included additional surgery, a serious car crash in March 2026 and a period away from the sport to focus on his health.
But recent appearances have renewed speculation.
Woods has been seen hitting golf balls at public events, and fellow PGA Tour professional Billy Horschel recently offered an encouraging assessment of his swing.
Horschel told Golfweek that Woods looked the best he had seen him in some time.
That is encouraging, but it is not medical clearance or confirmation of a tournament return.
Woods must still decide whether his body is ready for the demands of competition.
Could the Hero World Challenge Come First?
The PNC Championship is not the only event generating comeback speculation.
The Hero World Challenge, which Woods hosts, takes place in December. Three tournament exemption spots reportedly remain available, creating another possible opening if Woods decides he is ready.
Golf analyst Kevin Kisner has also discussed the possibility of Woods returning to competition before the end of 2026.
Neither event has a confirmed Woods appearance at this stage.
Still, a December return would give fans something they have been waiting for since his last competitive appearance.
And if Woods does make it back, playing alongside Charlie could be one of the most emotional sports stories of the year.
Golf Fans, Do Not Get Ahead of Yourselves Just Yet
Let’s pump the brakes before declaring Tiger Woods officially back.
The 15-time major champion has not announced a comeback. A reserved tournament spot is an invitation, not a commitment.
His health must come first, and Woods has been clear that recovery takes priority.
But there is a reason this story is generating so much attention.
Golf’s biggest modern superstar may have another opportunity to compete. His son could be right there beside him. And a December tournament could provide a memorable setting for the next chapter.
Tiger and Charlie Woods at the PNC Championship again? It is not official — but it suddenly feels possible.
