The Golden State Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 119-114 on Wednesday night, earning their second consecutive victory after a difficult start to the 2026-27 NBA season. Stephen Curry delivered a spectacular performance, scoring 44 points to lead Golden State past Minnesota in a competitive matchup at Target Center.

Curry finished with 44 points, eight rebounds and six assists, providing the offensive firepower the Warriors needed to secure the road victory. He attacked the basket, knocked down important three-pointers and consistently found ways to score when Minnesota threatened to make a comeback.

Yaxel Lendeborg also played a significant role for Golden State, finishing with 26 points and eight rebounds. His scoring gave the Warriors another reliable offensive option and helped take pressure off Curry throughout the contest.

Warriors Build a Comfortable Halftime Lead

Golden State established control early, using a strong finish to the first quarter to take a 30-23 advantage. The Warriors continued their momentum in the second period, outscoring Minnesota 34-25 to carry a 64-48 lead into halftime.

Curry and Lendeborg led the offensive attack, while Golden State moved the ball effectively and took advantage of opportunities in transition. The Warriors appeared firmly in control as they entered the second half with a 16-point cushion.

The lead eventually grew to 24 points, putting Minnesota in a difficult position as it attempted to keep the game competitive.

Timberwolves Rally Falls Short

Minnesota refused to give up despite facing a significant deficit. Playing without injured superstar Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves relied on their supporting cast to mount a comeback.

Jonathan Kuminga led Minnesota with 20 points against his former team, while Jaden McDaniels and Terrence Shannon Jr. each contributed 19 points. Ayo Dosunmu added 17 points as the Timberwolves steadily chipped away at Golden State’s advantage.

Minnesota outscored the Warriors 66-55 in the second half, making the final minutes increasingly tense. Bones Hyland helped bring the Timberwolves within three points late, but Curry converted two crucial free throws to secure the victory.

Golden State Builds Momentum

The win gives Golden State back-to-back victories after opening the season with three consecutive losses. Curry’s outstanding performance and Lendeborg’s continued production provide reasons for optimism as the Warriors look to climb the Western Conference standings.

Minnesota showed resilience without Edwards but ultimately could not complete the comeback. Golden State will look to maintain its momentum as the season continues.
