Angel Reese might want to spend less time complaining about the referees and more time figuring out how to make a layup.
Following her offensive struggles in the WNBA Finals, Reese criticized the officiating, claiming that her team wasn’t getting enough foul calls.
There’s just one problem with that argument.
A viral post claims the Atlanta Dream attempted 50 more free throws than the Golden State Valkyries throughout the series. If accurate, that makes Reese’s complaints look absolutely ridiculous.
Reese has struggled offensively, particularly over the last two games, yet somehow the referees are becoming the center of attention.
At what point does accountability enter the conversation?
You can’t consistently struggle to finish around the rim, turn the basketball over, and then blame the officials when things don’t go your way.
Reese wants to be treated like one of the WNBA’s biggest superstars, but superstar expectations come with superstar accountability.
The referees aren’t responsible for missed layups, bad shots, or turnovers.
Maybe instead of demanding more whistles, Reese should focus on giving fans fewer reasons to criticize her game.
Because right now, the biggest problem with Angel Reese’s offense isn’t the officiating. It’s Angel Reese.
