Aaron Rodgers Leads Pittsburgh to 26-19 Victory in Tampa Bay

The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off an impressive comeback Sunday, overcoming a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26-19 in overtime at Raymond James Stadium. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers delivered another clutch performance, leading Pittsburgh to its second-half rally before connecting with rookie Germie Bernard for the game-winning touchdown.

The victory improves Pittsburgh to 4-2 on the season, while Tampa Bay falls to 1-5 after letting a promising performance slip away. The Buccaneers appeared to be in control for much of the afternoon before Pittsburgh completely changed the game’s momentum.

Buccaneers Dominate Early

Tampa Bay started fast, taking advantage of Pittsburgh’s offensive struggles to build a 13-0 lead. The Buccaneers’ defense consistently pressured Rodgers, while rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels helped the offense capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Daniels connected with Emeka Egbuka for a touchdown, giving Tampa Bay an early advantage. The Steelers struggled to establish consistency before halftime, leaving themselves with a significant deficit to overcome.

Rodgers and the Pittsburgh offense needed a major response in the second half, and the veteran quarterback delivered when the game mattered most.

Rodgers Sparks Fourth Quarter Rally

Pittsburgh came alive in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 unanswered points to erase the Buccaneers’ lead. Rodgers found his rhythm through the air, connecting with his receivers and helping the Steelers move the ball downfield.

DK Metcalf and Bernard each finished with 11 receptions. Metcalf totaled 93 receiving yards, while Bernard recorded 87 yards and became an important target throughout the comeback.

Rodgers finished with 253 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 33-of-49 passing. Pittsburgh’s defense also stepped up, recording five sacks and two interceptions against Daniels.

Chris Boswell contributed four field goals, including a crucial 20-yard kick late in regulation that helped Pittsburgh take the lead.

However, Tampa Bay refused to go away. Chase McLaughlin connected on a 53-yard field goal as time expired, tying the game at 19-19 and forcing overtime.

Bernard Delivers the Winning Touchdown

Pittsburgh received the ball first in overtime and put together a methodical 12-play, 70-yard drive. Rodgers capped the possession by finding Bernard for a six-yard touchdown, completing the comeback and securing the 26-19 victory.

The Steelers demonstrated resilience in a game that looked lost early. Pittsburgh will look to carry that momentum into its next matchup, while Tampa Bay must find answers after another frustrating defeat.
