Russell Wilson just added even more fuel to the Jonathan Taylor trade rumors, and Denver Broncos fans have every reason to get excited.
Speaking on the CBS Kickoff Show, Wilson made it clear where he thinks Taylor’s agent should be looking as speculation continues to grow around the Indianapolis Colts star.
“If I’m Jonathan Taylor’s agent, I’m thinking about the Denver Broncos.”
That’s a statement that will get Broncos fans talking.
Denver has reportedly been monitoring Taylor’s situation ahead of the November 10 NFL trade deadline, and the idea of adding one of the league’s most dangerous running backs to an offense led by Bo Nix is certainly intriguing. The Broncos have Super Bowl ambitions, but their inconsistent rushing attack has been a concern.
Taylor could change that overnight.
The three-time Pro Bowler has established himself as one of the NFL’s premier running backs, combining explosive speed, power, and the ability to turn an ordinary carry into a game-changing play. He’s coming off a season in which he recorded nearly 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 20 total touchdowns, and he’s continued producing in 2026 despite Indianapolis’ struggles.
Imagine defenses having to prepare for both Nix’s ability to make plays through the air and with his legs, while also dealing with Taylor in the backfield. Adding a proven star like Taylor could give Denver another way to control games, take pressure off its quarterback, and make the offense much harder to defend.
The timing is especially interesting because Denver has reportedly checked in with Indianapolis about Taylor. The Colts have struggled this season, and trade speculation has intensified as the deadline approaches. However, Taylor has publicly maintained that he is proud to be in Indianapolis and has not requested a trade.
That means nothing is guaranteed.
Taylor’s contract and the compensation Indianapolis would demand could complicate any potential deal. Denver would have to decide whether adding another expensive star is worth the investment, especially after making a major move for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
Still, Wilson’s comments raise an intriguing possibility: could Taylor be the missing piece that takes the Broncos from playoff contenders to legitimate Super Bowl threats?
