New England Delivers Its Best Offensive Performance of the Season
The New England Patriots delivered one of their most impressive performances of the 2026 NFL season Sunday, rolling past the Las Vegas Raiders 45-17 at Gillette Stadium. Quarterback Drake Maye led the offensive explosion with five total touchdowns, helping New England improve to 3-2 and move above .500.
The Patriots controlled the game on both sides of the ball, piling up 536 total yards while limiting the Raiders to 306. After a disappointing stretch earlier in the season, New England showed what its offense can accomplish when Maye finds a rhythm and the supporting cast makes plays.
Drake Maye Puts on a Show
Maye was nearly unstoppable, completing 26 of 34 passes for 374 yards and four touchdowns through the air. He also added a rushing touchdown, accounting for five scores in a dominant afternoon.
Wide receiver DeMario Douglas was one of Maye’s favorite targets, hauling in two touchdown receptions. Kyle Williams and Hunter Henry also caught touchdown passes, giving the Patriots multiple ways to attack the Raiders’ defense.
Running back Rhamondre Stevenson added a rushing touchdown as New England consistently found openings on the ground and through the air. The Patriots finished with 165 rushing yards and 371 net passing yards, keeping Las Vegas on its heels throughout the afternoon.
New England built a 21-7 halftime lead and continued to pull away after the break. The Patriots added 14 points in the third quarter, turning a competitive start into a comfortable advantage.
Raiders Struggle to Keep Pace
Las Vegas had a few bright moments but could not match New England’s offensive production. Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 19 of 28 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown, while tight end Brock Bowers caught a 13-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.
Rookie Fernando Mendoza also made his debut for the Raiders, completing six of eight passes for 48 yards.
Running back Dylan Laube scored a two yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, but the Raiders were already facing a substantial deficit. Las Vegas struggled to establish its rushing attack, finishing with just 38 net rushing yards.
Patriots Build Momentum
The 45-17 victory gives New England an important boost heading into Week 6. Maye’s five-touchdown performance highlighted the team’s offensive potential, while the defense helped prevent the Raiders from making a serious comeback.
At 3-2, the Patriots are gaining momentum as they prepare to face the New York Jets next Sunday. Las Vegas also sits at 3-2, but its latest performance leaves plenty of questions to answer before its next matchup.
