Paige Spiranac may have found her most entertaining golf opponent yet.

The former professional golfer recently went head-to-head with comedian Andrew Santino for her YouTube series, and the matchup delivered exactly what you’d expect.

A little golf.

A lot of trash talk.

And plenty of Paige being Paige.

Santino can actually play, too. He carries a three handicap, so this was not exactly a celebrity taking a few swings against a complete beginner.

The two battled through the front nine, with the second half of their match coming later this month.

And Santino already appears to have figured out the best way to handle Spiranac.

Talk trash.

During one of her birdies, Santino jokingly told her she was a “bad person” before admitting it was a good birdie.

That is basically the perfect dynamic for Spiranac’s content.

She has built one of the largest audiences in golf by making the sport feel more entertaining and accessible.

Now she is doing it with comedians, creators and other personalities instead of simply posting traditional golf content.

That matters.

Golf has spent years trying to attract younger audiences.

Spiranac figured out how to do it without making golf feel like homework.

She has more than four million Instagram followers and about 480,000 YouTube subscribers.

And the audience clearly wants more.

Paige Spiranac versus Andrew Santino might be the most entertaining golf matchup you didn’t know you needed.

And judging by the first nine holes, the back nine could get even better.
