The No. 7 Miami Hurricanes continued their impressive start to the 2026 season Thursday night, absolutely overwhelming Florida A&M in a 77-7 victory at Hard Rock Stadium.
Miami wasted no time taking control, jumping out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter before completely pulling away. The Hurricanes added 28 points in the second quarter and another 28 in the third, turning the game into a runaway long before the final whistle.
Hurricanes Offense Runs Wild
Miami’s offense was nearly unstoppable throughout the night.
The Hurricanes finished with 854 total yards, averaging an incredible 11.7 yards per play. Miami also produced 44 rushing attempts and 408 rushing yards, showing that the offense could dominate in multiple ways.
Quarterback Darian Mensah continued his outstanding start to the season. The Duke transfer completed 14 of 15 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns before giving way to Miami’s other quarterbacks.
Luke Nickel was also extremely efficient, completing all eight of his passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns.
Miami’s Playmakers Shine
The Hurricanes had big plays coming from everywhere.
Malachi Toney continued his spectacular start to the season, catching four passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. Joshua Moore added a 55-yard touchdown reception, while Somourian Wingo hauled in a 47-yard score.
The rushing attack was just as impressive. Javian Mallory exploded for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only 10 carries, including a 52-yard touchdown run. Mark Fletcher Jr. added 105 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries.
Miami’s depth was on full display as the game progressed.
A Statement From The Hurricanes
Florida A&M finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter, but by then the outcome had long been decided. Miami’s defense held the Rattlers to just 107 total yards through most of the night.
After reaching the national championship game last season, Miami entered 2026 with enormous expectations. The Hurricanes have now followed their opening-week victory over Stanford with another dominant performance.
The competition will get significantly tougher as the season continues, but Miami is making it clear that it has championship ambitions.
The Hurricanes are 2-0, and after putting up 122 points in their first two games, Miami looks like one of the most dangerous teams in college football.
