The New England Patriots had this game.
Then Drake Maye gave it away.
The Patriots led Seattle 10-0 before the Seahawks completely flipped the game.
Maye threw three interceptions in the fourth quarter.
Three.
Seattle scored 13 unanswered points and stole a 13-10 victory from the Patriots, to pad the resume of the defending Super Bowl champions.
The final interception was especially brutal.
Maye had a chance to lead a game-winning drive. Instead, Josh Jobe picked him off in the end zone with 21 seconds remaining.
That ended it.
Maye had a terrific 2025 season, so nobody should panic after one game.
But this was a massive warning sign.
The Patriots want to be taken seriously again.
Their quarterback cannot give away games like this.
One ugly night does not erase what Maye accomplished last season.
It does, however, give the rest of the AFC something to talk about.
