Corey Day delivered one of the most impressive late-race drives of the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season Saturday at Dover Motor Speedway, charging from behind to stun Justin Allgaier in the closing laps of the BetRivers 200.
Driving the No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, Day tracked down Allgaier over the final run and completed the decisive pass in thrilling fashion at the Monster Mile, earning his second victory of the 2026 season and further cementing himself as one of the brightest young talents in stock car racing.
The win also carried a bit of poetic symmetry.
On one side sat the powerhouse of Hendrick Motorsports. On the other was JR Motorsports, the perennial O’Reilly Series juggernaut led by Allgaier. In the end, it was the Hendrick-backed phenom getting the better of the veteran in a classic Dover shootout.
