The UFC heavyweight division has its next championship fight.
Ciryl Gane will defend the undisputed UFC heavyweight championship against undefeated contender Josh Hokit in the main event of UFC 334 on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The UFC officially announced the matchup during Saturday night’s UFC 331 broadcast.
Gane Gets His First Title Defense
Gane enters the fight as the newly recognized undisputed heavyweight champion.
The French heavyweight captured the interim title with a knockout victory over Alex Pereira earlier this year. He was elevated after Tom Aspinall vacated the championship because of ongoing eye issues stemming from his previous no-contest against Gane.
Now, Gane will have his first opportunity to defend the undisputed belt.
Hokit Gets His Shot
Standing across from Gane will be one of the heavyweight division’s fastest-rising contenders.
Josh Hokit enters the matchup with a perfect 10-0 professional record and has won all four of his UFC appearances since earning his contract through Dana White’s Contender Series. Three of those UFC victories have come by stoppage.
Hokit has also built plenty of attention around himself with his outspoken personality and aggressive fighting style. His most recent victory came against Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250.
Now he gets the biggest opportunity of his career.
A Massive Night At Madison Square Garden
Gane vs. Hokit isn’t the only major championship fight scheduled for UFC 334.
Women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison is set to defend her title against former champion Amanda Nunes in the co-main event. The matchup had originally been scheduled earlier in 2026 before Harrison withdrew because of a neck injury.
With two title fights already locked in, UFC 334 is shaping up to be one of the promotion’s biggest events of the year.
Gane has the championship.
Hokit has the undefeated record.
On Nov. 14, one of them will leave Madison Square Garden with the heavyweight belt.
