The Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Denver on Sunday for a crucial AFC West matchup against the Broncos. With Kansas City sitting at 5-1 and Denver at 5-2, both teams have plenty at stake as they look to strengthen their position in the division race.

The game is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET at Empower Field at Mile High and will air on CBS. The Broncos enter with momentum after winning three consecutive games, while the Chiefs are looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season.

Chiefs Look to Bounce Back

Head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes will try to get Kansas City back on track after a disappointing 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Chiefs struggled to generate offense, finishing with just 213 total yards and failing to reach the red zone.

Mahomes threw for 165 yards and an interception in the defeat. He will need a stronger performance against a Denver defense that has consistently pressured opposing quarterbacks this season.

Running back Kenneth Walker III could be a major factor after dominating the Broncos in the teams’ first meeting. Walker rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City’s 31-10 victory in September. If the Chiefs can establish their ground game again, it could open opportunities for Mahomes and the passing attack.

Broncos Aim to Protect Home Field

Denver head coach Sean Payton will look to keep his team’s winning streak alive behind quarterback Bo Nix. The second-year quarterback has shown his ability to make plays with both his arm and legs, and he delivered an impressive performance in the Broncos’ 30-16 win over Arizona.

Nix threw for 222 yards and added 73 rushing yards, including a 62 yard touchdown run. His mobility could be important against a Kansas City defense that will try to disrupt Denver’s offensive rhythm.

The Broncos’ defense will also be key. Led by pass rushers Nik Bonitto and Zach Allen, Denver has the ability to pressure Mahomes and force mistakes. Cornerback Pat Surtain II’s improved injury status could provide a boost to the secondary, although Denver’s final injury report will be worth monitoring.

What to Watch For

The biggest matchup will be Kansas City’s offense against Denver’s pass rush. If the Broncos consistently pressure Mahomes, they could make life difficult for the Chiefs. However, Kansas City’s experience and offensive talent make the visitors dangerous in any close game.
