The San Francisco 49ers return home Sunday afternoon when they welcome the Arizona Cardinals to Levi’s Stadium for a Week 3 NFC West matchup.

The 49ers also have veteran receiver Brandin Cooks, giving Purdy another experienced target. Cooks, McCaffrey and the rest of San Francisco’s offensive weapons give the Cardinals plenty to prepare for.

One of the biggest battles Sunday will be Arizona’s defense against San Francisco’s versatile offense.
The Cardinals will need to find a way to limit McCaffrey without leaving opportunities for Purdy to attack through the air. If Arizona commits too many defenders to stopping the run, San Francisco has enough weapons to make them pay through the passing game.
On the other side, Arizona will need to find ways to keep drives alive and avoid giving the 49ers extra opportunities. San Francisco’s defense has plenty of playmakers capable of creating pressure and forcing difficult decisions.

The 49ers have started the season with two convincing victories and now have an opportunity to continue building momentum inside the NFC West.
Arizona will be looking to spoil that start, but San Francisco enters the matchup with confidence after its dominant performance against Miami.
With Purdy directing the offense, McCaffrey providing a threat on the ground and San Francisco playing at home, there will be plenty of attention on whether the 49ers can continue their strong opening to the season.
