Some things never change, and Stephen Curry continues proving that age is just a number. At 38 years old, the Golden State Warriors superstar is still capable of taking over an NBA game, and Wednesday night was another reminder that nobody should count him out.
Curry exploded for 44 points to lead the Warriors to a 119-114 road victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Just when people might have started wondering whether the superstar was slowing down, he delivered one of his biggest performances of the young season.
Curry Puts the NBA on Notice
Curry finished with 44 points, eight rebounds and six assists while shooting 11-of-27 from the field. He also knocked down six three-pointers and was perfect from the free-throw line, making all 16 attempts.
The performance was exactly what Golden State needed. After opening the season with three consecutive losses, the Warriors have now won two straight games and are beginning to find their rhythm.
Curry’s scoring explosion helped Golden State build a comfortable advantage before Minnesota made things interesting late. The Timberwolves fought their way back into the contest, but Curry delivered when his team needed him most, knocking down crucial free throws to help secure the victory.
Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg also played a major role, finishing with 26 points and nine rebounds. His contribution gave the Warriors another offensive weapon alongside their superstar.
Is There Any Stopping Steph?
The most impressive part of Curry’s performance is that he continues producing at an elite level deep into his career. His shooting ability, movement without the basketball and confidence remain difficult for opposing defenses to handle.
Golden State still has plenty of work to do this season, but performances like this show why the Warriors cannot be overlooked.
At 38, Curry is still putting up superstar numbers and reminding everyone that he has plenty left in the tank.
If Wednesday night was any indication, Steph Curry is nowhere close to being finished.
