Le Mans, France – Sunday, the No. 51 Ferrari AF Corse Hypercar went for a spin in the waning hours of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
The Ferrari car, which has been up front for much of the endurance event, took a turn into a sand pit around 5:30 AM ET, with just under 5 hours to go in the 93rd running of the prestigeous sports car race.
Ferrari has held a 1-2-3 podium lockout for much of the event, although Porsche Penske and Cadillac are mounting a late charge.
The prancing horse is looking for its third straight Le Mans overall victory, in addition to its fourth win of 2025 in WEC.
Ferrari may not be living up to the hype in Formula 1 this season, but their WEC dominance has certainly made up for it. However, a spin by its No. 51 car does open the door a bit for more chaos as the 93rd running of Le Mans winds down in the final hours.
Can Ferrari overcome the spin to take home the victory? Will the prancing horse get a coveted podium lockout or can Penske spoil the party?
It’s certainly been an eventful race, with a handful of driver retirements and now the race leader taking a late spin! Although Ferrari remains in the driver’s seat, the 1-2-3 podium lockout is now in jeopardy, as is the race win for the No. 51.
Under 4 hours to go! Who is going to win? Can the prancing horse hold off the mighty Porsche Penske and the Captain?
