Tiger Woods might finally be making his long-awaited return to competitive golf, and the golf world is already buzzing.
According to reports, the 15-time major champion is expected to compete in the TGL season opener on December 27, representing Jupiter Links Golf Club against Los Angeles Golf Club.
The potential return would mark Woods’ first competitive appearance since March, when he competed in the TGL Finals before a rollover car accident and subsequent arrest in Florida forced him away from the sport.
Woods, now 50, has battled numerous injuries, including back surgeries and a ruptured Achilles, leaving many questioning whether he would ever compete again.
However, his comeback is not official just yet. Woods has reportedly not formally committed to the opener, and his participation depends on his physical condition.
There is also speculation that Woods could compete in December’s Hero World Challenge or team up with his son Charlie at the PNC Championship.
But the biggest question remains: Could this be the beginning of one final PGA Tour comeback?
Woods hasn’t competed on the PGA Tour since the 2024 Open Championship, and while TGL is far different from a traditional tournament, getting back into competitive golf would be a significant first step.
Tiger Woods doesn’t need another trophy to prove his greatness. But one final run at a major championship would be one of the greatest stories golf has ever seen.
