Georgia rushed for 206 yards against Alabama without its top two running backs, as Dwight Phillips Jr. and Bo Walker delivered huge performances.

There is something seriously different about this Georgia football team, and Saturday night’s victory over Alabama proved exactly why the Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in the country.

Georgia marched into Tuscaloosa, defeated Alabama 20-17, and delivered one of the most impressive physical performances of the college football season.

But here’s what makes this victory even more ridiculous.

Georgia played without its top two running backs, Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens, and STILL rushed for 206 yards against one of the best defenses in college football.

Let that sink in.

Alabama entered the matchup allowing just 78.6 rushing yards per game. Yet, despite Georgia’s depleted backfield, the Crimson Tide had absolutely no answer for the Bulldogs’ rushing attack.

And two players deserve a tremendous amount of credit.

Dwight Phillips Jr. was absolutely outstanding, rushing for a career-high 120 yards on 17 carries in his first career start. Phillips averaged over seven yards per carry and consistently made Alabama defenders miss.

Meanwhile, Bo Walker delivered one of the biggest performances of his young career, adding 69 rushing yards on just 10 carries. His explosive 37-yard run in the fourth quarter helped set up Georgia’s game-winning field goal.

Together, Phillips and Walker combined for 189 rushing yards against an Alabama defense that was supposed to be nearly impossible to run against.

That’s absolutely ridiculous.

And let’s give Georgia’s offensive line some credit as well. The Bulldogs controlled the line of scrimmage, created massive running lanes, and physically wore down one of the most talented defenses in college football.

This is exactly what Kirby Smart has built his program around. Physicality, toughness, depth, and the ability to dominate regardless of who’s available.

Quarterback Gunner Stockton also delivered when Georgia needed him, throwing for 249 yards and a touchdown while adding another score on the ground.

What’s even scarier?

Georgia accomplished all of this without Frazier and Bowens. Imagine what this rushing attack could look like when both return healthy.

The Bulldogs are undefeated, have taken down Alabama on the road, and continue to prove they can win in multiple ways.

There are plenty of talented teams across college football, but very few have the depth and physicality Georgia possesses.

Saturday wasn’t just another SEC victory. It was a warning to the rest of the country.

This Georgia team is DIFFERENT, and Kirby Smart might have another national championship squad on his hands.
