And yes, she’s ridiculously good-looking.
That’s obviously part of the appeal.
But Schmidt isn’t some random influencer who happened to put on a pair of running shoes.
She’s a legitimate professional athlete and Olympian who has built an enormous audience while continuing to compete at the highest level.
More than 5 million people follow her on Instagram, and that number keeps making more sense every time she posts.
At this point, Schmidt has basically mastered the sports-influencer formula:

And enough personality to make people who couldn’t name a single track event suddenly care about track and field.
