Oklahoma State Stuns No. 6 Oregon in Massive Upset

College football has its first massive shocker of the day.

Oklahoma State stunned No. 6 Oregon 39-31 on Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium, pulling off one of the biggest upsets of the young 2026 season. The Cowboys entered the game coming off a loss to Tulsa, while Oregon arrived ranked among the nation’s best after beating Boise State in Week 1.

Instead, Oklahoma State completely flipped the script.

Cowboys Take Control

Oklahoma State’s offense came out ready to attack Oregon’s defense and finished with an incredible 558 total yards.

Quarterback Drew Mestemaker played a major role in the upset, throwing for 317 yards and two touchdowns while adding 109 rushing yards and another score. His 75-yard touchdown run was one of the biggest plays of the afternoon.

Running back Caleb Hawkins also delivered, rushing for 110 yards and a touchdown.

The Cowboys took a 24-17 lead into halftime and refused to back down against the heavily favored Ducks.

Oregon Fights Back

Oregon made its push in the second half.

Dante Moore threw two touchdown passes, including a 38-yard strike to Evan Stewart that tied the game at 30 early in the fourth quarter.

But Oklahoma State answered immediately.

Mestemaker broke free for a 10-yard touchdown run to put the Cowboys back in front, and Oklahoma State added a field goal later in the quarter to extend the lead to eight.

Oregon had a chance to make things interesting late, but a fumble with just two minutes remaining ended the Ducks’ final serious opportunity.

A Massive Statement For Oklahoma State

This wasn’t just a win for the Cowboys. It was a complete reversal from their Week 1 loss.

Oklahoma State entered the game as a massive underdog, but the Cowboys controlled the ball for more than 36 minutes and consistently moved the football against one of the nation’s top teams.

Oregon falls to 1-1, while Oklahoma State improves to 1-1.

For Eric Morris and the Cowboys, this victory could completely change the trajectory of their season.
