The Atlanta Braves may have already taken control of the NL East.

Atlanta holds an 11-plus game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets, its primary big-spending rivals, just weeks into the 2026 season. The Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals linger near .500 and have already lost early matchups to Atlanta.

With a fast start and separation from the field, the Braves have turned the division into theirs to lose. Barring a collapse, the race could be effectively decided by the All-Star break.
