The NFL is back, which means America is officially entering another season of watching Travis Kelce catch footballs and Taylor Swift become the most famous person in the stadium.
But there is one tiny problem.
This could be the end.
Kelce is back with the Kansas City Chiefs for his 14th NFL season after seriously considering retirement last offseason. He signed on for another run, but the retirement conversation never completely disappeared.
So enjoy it, Swifties.
This may be Taylor Swift’s final full season of flying around the country to watch her husband play football.
Think about what we’ve witnessed.
Taylor in the suite. Taylor reacting to touchdowns. Taylor hugging Brittany Mahomes. Taylor wearing Chiefs gear. Taylor causing approximately 47 million cameras to immediately point in the direction of one luxury box.
And now she gets to do it as Mrs. Kelce.
The NFL may have a quarterback controversy, coaching controversy and whatever nonsense is happening in New York, but the real storyline is obvious:
How many more Taylor Swift NFL Sundays do we have left?
If Kelce decides after this season that he’s had enough, the NFL is going to lose the greatest unofficial halftime show it never actually booked.
So, Chiefs fans, cherish these Sundays.
Because one day Travis Kelce is going to retire, Taylor is going to stop showing up every weekend, and some poor NFL broadcast producer is going to have to figure out what the hell to put in the corner of the screen instead.
