The Pittsburgh Steelers earned an important victory Sunday, defeating the New Orleans Saints 16-10 in Paris, France, to extend their winning streak to three games. Behind a strong rushing attack, a crucial defensive interception and a historic touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh improved to 5-2 on the season.

The Saints fell to 2-5 after struggling to generate consistent production on the ground and failing to capitalize on opportunities in the second half.

Rodgers Makes History in Steelers Victory

Rodgers finished with 212 passing yards and one touchdown while completing 19 of 30 passes without throwing an interception. His biggest moment came in the second quarter when he connected with tight end Darnell Washington for a four-yard touchdown.

The scoring pass was the 540th touchdown of Rodgers’ career, moving him past Peyton Manning into third place on the NFL’s all-time passing touchdown list.

Pittsburgh initially took a 3-0 lead on a Chris Boswell field goal before the Saints answered with a field goal of their own. Rodgers then delivered the touchdown to Washington, giving the Steelers a 10-3 advantage.

New Orleans responded with a touchdown pass from Tyler Shough to Devaughn Vele, tying the game at 10-10. However, Boswell converted a 47 yard field goal just before halftime to give Pittsburgh a 13-10 lead.

Jaylen Warren Leads the Ground Attack

Running back Jaylen Warren was one of Pittsburgh’s biggest difference-makers. He rushed for 101 yards on 18 carries and added 36 receiving yards, consistently helping the Steelers move the chains.

Rico Dowdle also contributed, recording 41 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards. Pittsburgh’s ability to control the ground game helped the offense maintain possession and keep pressure on the Saints’ defense.

Boswell added a 39 yard field goal late in the third quarter, extending Pittsburgh’s advantage to 16-10.

Defense Delivers When It Matters Most

The Steelers’ defense played a major role in securing the victory. Early in the second half, New Orleans drove deep into Pittsburgh territory with an opportunity to take the lead. However, linebacker Payton Wilson intercepted Shough in the red zone, ending the scoring threat.

Shough completed 30 of 38 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown, but his interception proved costly. The Saints also struggled to establish their running game, finishing with just 18 rushing yards.

Pittsburgh’s defense prevented New Orleans from scoring again, while Rodgers helped run down the clock late in the fourth quarter.

The Steelers will return home looking to extend their winning streak against the Cleveland Browns next Sunday.
