BRISTOL, Tenn. — Ricky Stenhouse Jr. accepted responsibility Sunday after contact with Brad Keselowski during the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway, calling it a “racing deal” on a difficult short track.
The incident occurred as Stenhouse attempted to work around Keselowski on the tight half-mile layout, where passing opportunities are limited and track position is critical. Keselowski made a late defensive move, and contact followed in the exchange.
While some suggested Stenhouse may have gotten loose entering the corner, the driver of the No. 47 Chevrolet dismissed that explanation and took full blame for the incident, emphasizing the competitive nature of racing at Bristol.
Stenhouse described the situation as hard racing between two veterans in a tight space and downplayed any lingering issue, framing it as part of the sport rather than a dispute.
Both drivers are expected to move forward quickly, with attention now shifting to next weekend at Kansas Speedway.
