Diego Pavia is getting his shot—but not the way anyone expected.
After going completely undrafted despite being a Heisman runner-up, Pavia has accepted an invitation to the Baltimore Ravens’ rookie minicamp, giving him a chance to prove he belongs at the next level.

Pavia was one of the most productive quarterbacks in college football, throwing for over 10,000 yards and 88 touchdowns across his career while also making a name for himself as a dual-threat playmaker.
At Vanderbilt, he led the SEC in completion percentage and passing touchdowns, and even helped pull off a historic upset over No. 1 Alabama.
And still—no team drafted him.
The reasons are clear, even if they’re controversial. NFL scouts questioned his size (around 5-foot-10) and whether his arm strength translates to the pro level.
There were also concerns about his fit in a traditional NFL system, with many believing his success came in schemes tailored specifically to his strengths.
But now, he has an opportunity.
The Ravens didn’t draft a quarterback and need arms for rookie camp, so Pavia will get a real chance to compete for a roster or practice squad spot behind Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley.
And honestly, this feels like the perfect fit.
If there’s any team willing to embrace a mobile, unconventional quarterback, it’s Baltimore. With Lamar Jackson already redefining what the position looks like, Pavia couldn’t have landed in a better situation to showcase what he does best.
Still, nothing is guaranteed.
