Patrick Mahomes looks ready to go.

Nine months after tearing the ACL and LCL in his left knee, Mahomes is expected to start Monday night when the Chiefs open their season against the Denver Broncos. Andy Reid said Mahomes will “most likely” start barring an unexpected setback.

And the latest injury report makes that even more encouraging.

Mahomes was a full participant in Thursday’s practice, with Kansas City still listing the knee but showing no practice limitations.

Mahomes doesn’t plan on changing the way he plays, either. He said he’s built up enough strength through rehab to “be myself” and still plans on scrambling when necessary.

That’s massive for Kansas City.

The Chiefs missed the playoffs last season after Mahomes went down, while Denver went on to win the AFC West. Now Kansas City gets an immediate opportunity to take on the defending division champions.

And barring a late setback, No. 15 will be back under center.
