The Carolina Panthers are adding another experienced weapon to their offense, agreeing to a one year deal with veteran tight end Darren Waller. The agreement was reported Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Waller brings plenty of NFL experience to Carolina. The former Pro Bowler was one of the league’s most dangerous receiving tight ends during his best years, including back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.

For the Panthers, the move gives quarterback Bryce Young another experienced target in the passing game. Waller’s size, athleticism and ability to make plays in the red zone could provide Carolina with an important boost as the 2026 season approaches.

The signing also gives Waller an opportunity to make an impact with another team after spending last season with the Miami Dolphins.

If Waller can stay healthy and return to the form that made him one of the NFL’s top tight ends, his addition could prove to be a valuable move for Carolina.

Panthers fans now have another reason to be excited heading into the 2026 season: Darren Waller is headed to Carolina.
