KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs delivered one of the most highly regarded performances in the 2026 NFL draft, earning an “A+” grade from EasySportz’s in-house NFL analyst in its team-by-team evaluation.
Kansas City opened aggressively with two first-round selections, adding cornerback Mansoor Delane and defensive lineman Peter Woods to bolster an already strong defense. The Chiefs followed with edge rusher R. Mason Thomas in the second round, continuing a clear emphasis on the defensive front.
The Chiefs added cornerback Jadon Canady in the fourth round, then addressed offensive depth with running back Emmett Johnson and receiver Cyrus Allen in the fifth before selecting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier in the seventh.
EasySportz’s analyst praised the class for its blend of immediate impact and long-term upside, highlighting Woods and Thomas as potential difference-makers along the defensive line. The report also noted strong value throughout the middle rounds and a developmental quarterback addition in Nussmeier.
National evaluations echoed that view, with several outlets ranking Kansas City among the top draft classes for its ability to address key needs while maintaining championship-level depth.
Overall, the Chiefs’ draft was widely viewed as a complete, high-impact class that maximized value and talent across the board — reflected in the analyst’s A+ grade.
