MARTINSVILLE, Va. — The odds board tells a different story than the standings heading into Martinsville Speedway this weekend.
Despite Tyler Reddick dominating the early portion of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season, it’s Ryan Blaney who enters as the betting favorite for Sunday’s Cook Out 400.
According to DraftKings, Blaney is listed at +500 to win, tied atop the board with Denny Hamlin, signaling strong confidence in the Team Penske driver at one of his best tracks.
The reasoning is clear.
Blaney has been one of the most consistent performers at Martinsville in the Next Gen era, boasting elite metrics across the board, including top marks in average finish and driver rating. A two-time winner at the half-mile “Paperclip,” he has turned the tight Virginia short track into a personal playground in recent years.
Hamlin, however, is right there alongside him — and for good reason.
A six-time Martinsville winner, Hamlin dominated this race one year ago, leading 274 laps en route to victory. His ability to manage long runs and control track position makes him a perennial threat whenever the series visits the shortest track on the schedule.
Just behind the co-favorites sits Kyle Larson at +550, followed by William Byron (+700) and Christopher Bell (+800), rounding out a stacked group of contenders at the top of the board.
Further down, notable names like Chase Elliott (+900), Joey Logano (+1200) and Reddick (+1400) remain firmly in the mix, highlighting the depth of a field where short-track racing often tightens the gap between frontrunners and challengers.
That unpredictability is part of what defines Martinsville.
The 0.526-mile oval — the shortest track in the Cup Series — places a premium on braking, patience and track position, often producing physical racing and late-race chaos. () It’s a venue where favorites don’t always prevail, and where experience can outweigh outright speed.
