Kyle Busch, the NASCAR Cup Series veteran, continued his dominance at the 2025 Cookout Summer Shootout Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway, securing his second consecutive victory in the Legends Masters division on June 17. Piloting his No. 51 Lucas Oil Legend Car, Busch showcased his skill on the quarter-mile oval, navigating a physically demanding, caution-filled race to claim the checkered flag. His win followed a commanding performance the previous week, where he led all 25 laps from the pole, marking his first Masters division triumph in over two decades.
The 40-year-old driver’s back-to-back wins highlight his enduring talent and adaptability in grassroots racing. Despite a competitive field of seasoned racers, Busch’s strategic restarts and precise car control kept him ahead, earning praise from fans and peers. The event, part of the 32nd season of the Summer Shootout, drew a lively crowd, with the Laps & Lassos-themed night adding to the festive atmosphere, with Kyle Busch attending.
Busch’s son, Brexton, also competed, taking home a win earlier in the afternoon.
Busch credited his crew and sponsors for the success, emphasizing the camaraderie of the Masters division. His victories serve as a reminder of the Shootout’s role as a proving ground for NASCAR stars, past and present, which also includes Shane Van Gisbergen and Scott McLaughlin this summer. As the series continues, Busch’s hot streak sets the stage for more thrilling battles under the Charlotte lights, racing for a full season championship.
How fun!
