The Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles will renew their rivalry Saturday night when No. 3 Miami hosts Florida State at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

Miami enters the matchup undefeated at 5-0 overall and 3-0 in ACC play, while Florida State sits at 3-3 and 1-2 in conference action. The Hurricanes are coming off a bye week, while the Seminoles are looking to rebound from a 44-20 loss to Louisville.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. With Miami chasing a potential College Football Playoff appearance and Florida State searching for consistency, this rivalry game carries plenty of importance.

Darian Mensah Leads Miami’s Offense

Miami quarterback Darian Mensah has been outstanding during the Hurricanes’ undefeated start.

Mensah has thrown for 1,438 yards and 15 touchdowns without an interception, giving head coach Mario Cristobal a highly efficient passing attack. His accuracy and ability to get the ball to Miami’s playmakers have helped the Hurricanes become one of the nation’s most productive offenses.

Wide receiver Malachi Toney has emerged as a major weapon, while Miami’s running game gives the offense another way to control games. Running backs Mark Fletcher Jr. and Javian Mallory have combined for 596 rushing yards, helping Miami maintain a balanced attack.

Cristobal’s team has also been strong defensively, allowing fewer than 10 points per game in ACC competition. That balance has helped Miami establish itself as a serious contender for the conference title.

Florida State Needs a Response

Florida State enters the rivalry looking for answers after its disappointing loss at Louisville.

Quarterback Ashton Daniels has been one of the Seminoles’ most dangerous rushing threats, scoring 10 rushing touchdowns through six games. Running back Ousmane Kromah has also been productive, recording 565 rushing yards.

Head coach Mike Norvell will need his offense to maintain that rushing production while limiting mistakes against Miami’s defense. The Seminoles have shown they can compete with strong opponents, including an early season lead against Alabama, but they have struggled to finish games consistently.

Defensively, Florida State must improve its run defense after allowing 397 rushing yards against Louisville. That weakness could be especially concerning against Miami’s powerful backfield.

A Rivalry With Major Stakes

Miami has won the last two meetings between the programs and will look to extend that streak at home.

The Hurricanes want to remain undefeated and strengthen their national championship hopes. Florida State needs a complete performance to get its season back on track.

With Mensah leading Miami and Daniels providing a dual-threat presence for Florida State, the quarterback matchup will be a key storyline.

Saturday night offers Miami another opportunity to make a statement, while Florida State faces a difficult test against its biggest rival.
