LSU Is Playing Through The Drama

There has been no shortage of drama surrounding LSU heading into the 2026 season.

Between Lane Kiffin’s arrival, the controversy surrounding former NFL players attempting to return to college football and the ongoing legal battle with the SEC, the Tigers have spent much of the offseason surrounded by headlines.

But when LSU finally stepped onto the field, the Tigers made one thing very clear: the drama isn’t stopping them from playing football.

LSU Responds On The Field

While the controversy continued to grow away from the stadium, LSU delivered one of the most dominant performances of the opening weekend.

The Tigers destroyed Clemson 51-10, putting up 644 total yards and controlling the game from the opening kickoff.

It was exactly the type of performance LSU needed.

Instead of allowing the outside noise to become a distraction, the Tigers appeared completely locked in once the game started.

Kiffin Has Kept LSU Focused

Lane Kiffin has been at the center of much of the controversy.

LSU’s decision to leave former NFL players Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris off the roster came after a Louisiana judge temporarily blocked the SEC from enforcing its ban on players with professional experience returning to college. The SEC has continued its legal challenge and is now considering extraordinary action against LSU.

Yet Kiffin and his team still managed to put together a statement performance.

That may be the most impressive part of LSU’s start.

The Tigers Have A Chance To Silence The Noise

LSU now has Louisiana Tech on the schedule before traveling to Ole Miss for the Magnolia Bowl on September 19.

The Tigers cannot control what happens in courtrooms or SEC meetings. They can control what happens on the football field.

And so far, LSU has done exactly that.

The controversy surrounding the program isn’t going away anytime soon, especially with the SEC discussing whether LSU should remain in the conference.

But if LSU continues winning, the Tigers could make the most powerful statement possible.

Let everyone else talk. LSU will keep playing.
