No. 8 LSU continued its impressive start to the 2026 season Saturday night, taking down Louisiana Tech 45-14 at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers entered the game looking to build on their massive 51-10 victory over Clemson, and while Louisiana Tech managed to make things interesting early, LSU eventually pulled away and turned the game into another comfortable victory.
LSU Pulls Away
Louisiana Tech kept the game competitive early, but LSU’s defense eventually took over. The Tigers forced several turnovers and repeatedly gave the offense favorable field position.
After a relatively competitive first half, LSU exploded after halftime and turned the game into a blowout.
The Tigers’ defense once again showed why it could be one of the team’s biggest strengths under first-year head coach Lane Kiffin. After overwhelming Clemson in Week 1, LSU continued creating problems for opposing offenses.
Another Strong Performance For The Tigers
LSU’s offense did enough to keep the Bulldogs from mounting a serious comeback, while the defense continued to set the tone.
The Tigers have now scored 96 points in their first two games, following the 51-point performance against Clemson with another 45-point outing.
That offensive production, combined with the defense’s ability to create turnovers, has LSU looking like one of the most dangerous teams in the SEC.

The victory moves LSU to 2-0 and gives the Tigers another major confidence boost heading into their biggest test yet.
