BRISTOL, Tenn. — When thinking of Bristol Motor Speedway, several legendary names come to mind, including Alan Kulwicki, Rusty Wallace, and Darrell Waltrip. But among them, Kyle Busch stands out for his success across all three of NASCAR’s national series.
Busch’s resume at Bristol is unmatched in its range. He has recorded eight Cup Series victories at the half-mile oval, tied for second all-time, along with nine wins in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series — the most in series history at the track — and five in the Craftsman Truck Series, also the most all-time. In total, Busch has collected 23 national series wins at Bristol, a mark that underscores his dominance at the Tennessee short track.
Despite that success, it has been several years since Busch last visited Victory Lane at Bristol in the Truck Series. His most recent Truck win at the track came in 2017, when he swept the race weekend. Since then, his appearances have been limited, though he remains competitive. In his last Truck start at Bristol in 2024, Busch finished second.
Overall, Busch has made 12 Truck Series starts at Bristol, recording eight top-five finishes and nine top-10s, along with an average finish of 7.4 — numbers that reinforce his status as a perennial contender whenever he enters the field.
Still, this weekend presents a challenge. The entry list features a deep and competitive group, including drivers such as Corey Heim, Layne Riggs, and Chandler Smith, as well as Cup Series regulars like Carson Hocevar and Ross Chastain.
With one of the most stacked Truck Series fields in recent years, the path to victory won’t be easy. But at Bristol, few drivers have proven themselves more capable than Busch — and this weekend could be another opportunity for him to remind everyone why.
