The Atlanta Braves’ recent hot streak came to an end Monday night as the San Francisco Giants defeated Atlanta 7-3 at Truist Park. The loss snapped the Braves’ seven-game winning streak and ended what had been an impressive homestand for the National League contenders.
Atlanta entered the game with plenty of momentum after sweeping the Dodgers and Rockies during its previous six games. The Braves looked ready to keep that momentum going early, taking a 2-1 lead before the Giants responded. Atlanta briefly regained the lead at 3-2, but San Francisco’s offense came alive in the sixth inning.
The Giants scored four runs in the sixth to take control of the game. Osleivis Basabe started the big inning with a solo home run, and rookie Turner Hill followed with a two-run double. Bryce Eldridge then added an RBI single, giving San Francisco a 6-3 advantage.
Rafael Devers also played a major role in the Giants’ victory, hitting his 30th home run of the season in the first inning. The veteran slugger’s early blast gave San Francisco an important spark and continued an impressive season for the Giants’ lineup.
Anthony Molina, who was traded from Atlanta to San Francisco earlier this season, earned the win for the Giants. Molina allowed three runs over five innings before San Francisco’s bullpen shut down the Braves over the final four innings.
For Atlanta, Michael Harris II provided one of the team’s biggest offensive highlights with his 23rd home run of the season. However, the Braves could not generate enough offense late in the game to complete another comeback.
The loss also continued San Francisco’s dominance in the season series. The Giants finished 5-1 against the Braves in 2026 and completed a sweep of their three games at Truist Park.
Despite the disappointing result, Atlanta’s seven-game winning streak showed just how well the team has been playing. The Braves will now look to quickly move past the loss as they head on the road to face the Washington Nationals.
One loss does not erase the momentum Atlanta built during its winning streak, but the Braves will need to respond quickly as the regular season enters its final stretch.
