Texas-Tennessee was already one of the biggest games of the college football season. Now add President Donald Trump and ESPN’s College GameDay to the mix.
Trump is expected to attend Saturday’s showdown as No. 1 Texas travels to Knoxville to face No. 14 Tennessee at Neyland Stadium. The matchup kicks off at noon ET on ABC and marks Texas’ first-ever trip to Neyland Stadium.
And Rocky Top is going all-out.
College GameDay will broadcast from Ayres Hall from 9-11 a.m. before moving inside Neyland Stadium for its final hour leading directly into kickoff. Peyton Manning is also scheduled to appear during the show, adding another layer to a game featuring his nephew, Texas quarterback Arch Manning.
Trump’s attendance will bring increased security as well. Stadium gates open at 9 a.m., with Secret Service personnel conducting enhanced screenings and additional checkpoints around Neyland Stadium.
One important note: despite Trump being at the game, CBS Sports reports that he is not expected to appear on College GameDay.
No. 1 Texas. Tennessee. Arch Manning. Peyton Manning. College GameDay. Checker Neyland. And the President of the United States.
Knoxville might be the center of the college football world on Saturday.
