Angel Reese was facing plenty of questions after two difficult performances in the WNBA Finals, but the Atlanta Dream star delivered an answer when her team needed her most. With their season on the line, Reese helped Atlanta defeat the Golden State Valkyries 80-69 in Game 6 on Thursday, forcing a historic winner-take-all Game 7.

After struggling in Games 4 and 5, Reese reminded everyone why she has become one of the biggest stars in the league. She finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, recording another double-double in the biggest game of Atlanta’s season.

Reese Responds When It Matters Most

Reese entered Game 6 under pressure after scoring just 15 combined points across the previous two losses. Golden State had made life difficult for her, limiting her scoring opportunities and forcing her into uncomfortable situations.

However, Reese found other ways to impact the game. Even though she shot just 5-of-18 from the field, she controlled the glass, created opportunities for teammates and helped Atlanta establish control early.

Her 14 rebounds pushed her Finals total to 78, setting a new WNBA Finals record for the most rebounds by an individual player in a single series.

She also made two three-pointers, providing an important scoring boost as Atlanta fought to keep its championship hopes alive.

One Game Away From a Championship

The victory sends the WNBA Finals to Game 7 for the first time in league history. Atlanta and Golden State will now meet Saturday in San Francisco with the championship on the line.

For Reese, the opportunity is especially meaningful. After reaching the Finals for the first time in her professional career, she now has a chance to help deliver Atlanta its first championship.

The Dream will need another strong performance from their star forward, especially against a Golden State team that has consistently challenged her throughout the series.

Reese has already made history during these Finals, but one game remains. After answering her critics in Game 6, can she deliver the performance that brings Atlanta its first WNBA championship?
