Cowboys and Eagles Look to Get Back on Track in Monday Night Football Showdown

The NFL's Monday Night Football schedule delivers a classic...

The NFL’s Monday Night Football schedule delivers a classic NFC East rivalry as the Dallas Cowboys travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles. Both teams enter the Week 7 matchup at 2-4 and desperately need a victory to turn their seasons around.

With both teams struggling to find consistency, Monday night’s showdown at Lincoln Financial Field could be an important turning point for either franchise.

Cowboys Look to End Two Game Losing Streak

The Cowboys enter Monday night searching for answers after dropping consecutive games. Quarterback Dak Prescott and the Dallas offense have struggled to maintain their early-season momentum, combining for just 29 points over their last two contests.

Dallas still has plenty of offensive talent, including wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. If Prescott can get those playmakers involved early, the Cowboys have the potential to put significant pressure on Philadelphia’s defense.

Running back Javonte Williams could also play an important role. Establishing the ground game would help Dallas control the clock, keep the Eagles’ defense on the field and prevent Prescott from having to carry the offense on every possession.

However, the Cowboys’ defense remains a major concern. Dallas has struggled to consistently stop opposing offenses, and those problems could become costly if Philadelphia finds ways to move the football.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer needs his team to deliver a more complete performance if Dallas hopes to leave Philadelphia with a victory.

Eagles Face Major Offensive Challenges

Philadelphia enters Monday night’s contest dealing with significant injuries, particularly on offense.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts is unavailable, leaving Tanner McKee to lead the offense. McKee will need to make smart decisions and avoid turnovers against a Dallas defense looking to regain its confidence.

The Eagles will also be without wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, putting additional pressure on the remaining pass catchers to step up.

Running back Saquon Barkley’s availability is another important storyline. If Barkley can return, his ability to produce on the ground would give Philadelphia a much-needed boost and help take pressure off McKee.

Head coach Nick Sirianni must find creative ways to generate offense despite the team’s missing playmakers.

What’s at Stake?

Both teams need a win to remain in the NFC East race. With the division still within reach, Monday night’s game represents an opportunity for one struggling contender to regain momentum.

Dallas appears to have the healthier roster, but playing on the road against a division rival is never easy.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC. With both teams desperate for a victory, expect an intense rivalry matchup under the Monday night lights.
