High Limit’s Big Week Continues Tonight at Eldora With Split-Field Double Down Duel $
Sprint car racing’s biggest week officially gets underway Wednesday night as Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing opens Kings Royal week with the Double Down Duel$ at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
The unique split-field event features more than 60 of the nation’s top sprint car drivers divided into two separate 25-lap feature races, each paying $12,000 to win. Beyond the prize money, every point earned Wednesday night will help determine Thursday’s starting lineups for the $100,000-to-win Joker’s Jackpot, making every position on track even more valuable.
Among the biggest names in the field are NASCAR Cup Series stars Kyle Larson and Corey Day, two of the sport’s premier dirt racers who continue to balance national NASCAR Team Hendrick schedules with sprint car competition.
Larson, a co-owner of High Limit Racing and the defending Joker’s Jackpot winner, returns to one of his favorite tracks looking to build momentum heading into the richest stretch of the week. Corey Day, meanwhile, continues to establish himself as one of dirt racing’s brightest young stars while simultaneously turning heads during his rookie season with Hendrick Motorsports in NASCAR’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
The Double Down Duel$ serves as much more than a standalone event.
Thursday’s Joker’s Jackpot will award a staggering $100,000 to the winner before attention shifts to one of sprint car racing’s crown jewels, the Kings Royal, later this weekend at the famed half-mile dirt oval. Together, the four-night showcase represents one of the richest and most prestigious weeks on the dirt racing calendar.
For Larson, the week continues an incredible run of racing. Fresh off another NASCAR Cup Series weekend, a Monday race at Fremont and a rare World of Outlaws appearance Tuesday night, the former Cup champion climbs back behind the wheel looking for another Eldora victory.
