The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race Friday at Watkins Glen International may not be as easy for road course stars Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch as many expected.

Yes, both drivers bring elite road racing talent to the table. But trucks are a different animal, especially deep in traffic at a fast, chaotic place like Watkins Glen. Neither driver starts near the very front, and that could become a major problem once the green flag drops. One bad restart, one stack-up entering Turn 1 or the bus stop, and their day could unravel quickly.

Meanwhile, Kaden Honeycutt enters the race with momentum after dominating and winning the ARCA race earlier Friday. Honeycutt already has laps, confidence and rhythm on his side. Brent Crews also looks like a serious threat after showing speed throughout the weekend and appearing far more comfortable in the aggressive truck racing environment.

Van Gisbergen and Zilisch may have the headlines, but Friday afternoon could belong to the drivers who understand how to wheel these trucks through traffic and survive the chaos. Right now, Honeycutt and Crews look built for exactly that.
